We’re excited to share photos from one of our latest lift refurbishment projects, completed for a well-known UK hotel brand. This refurbishment is part of a wider upgrade programme across several of their sites, focused on delivering better lift performance for guests while also keeping sustainability and cost-efficiency front of mind.
Rather than opting for a full lift replacement, the client chose a more strategic route: retaining the existing lift car and guide rails while extensively modernising the rest of the system. This approach significantly reduces downtime and environmental impact, while still delivering a finished product that feels brand new.
The refurbished lift now includes a state-of-the-art Variable Voltage Variable Frequency (VVVF) control system, which provides smoother ride quality, better energy efficiency, and improved reliability. We also installed a new motor and gearbox to support long-term performance, as well as replacing the ropes and door operator to ensure consistent, quiet, and safe operation.
Alongside these major mechanical upgrades, we brought the lift up to current Health & Safety standards and completed a full car reline to refresh the look and feel of the interior. The result is a lift that not only works better—it also looks and feels modern and inviting for guests.
This project is a great example of how lift refurbishment can be a smart alternative to full replacement. It offers substantial savings in cost and time and avoids the unnecessary waste of removing elements like the lift car and guide rails, which often have years of life left in them.
For hotel guests, this means a quieter, smoother, and more comfortable journey—without the long disruptions that can come with major building works. And for the hotel group, it’s a way to invest in better performance and sustainability without stretching budgets or timelines.
